Munroe is one of nearly 18,000 healthcare organizations in the United States and many other countries accredited by the Joint Commission on the Accreditation of Health Care Organizations (The Joint Commission).
Accreditation demonstrates Munroe's organizational commitment to quality and patient safety by:
- Meeting The Joint Commission's rigorous standards.
- Measuring itself against national standards set by healthcare professionals.
- Continually making an effort to improve care and services.
The Joint Commission may survey Munroe Regional Medical Center at any time, with no prior notice. The purpose of The Joint Commission's survey is to evaluate Munroe's compliance with nationally established Joint Commission standards. The survey results will be used to determine whether, and the conditions under which, accreditation should be awarded the organization.
Joint Commission standards deal with organization quality and safety-of-care issues and the safety of the environment in which care is provided. Any individual who has any concerns about patient care and safety in the hospital that the hospital has not addressed is encouraged to contact the hospital's management.
