Steve Purves, FACHE
President & Chief Executive Officer
Steve Purves joined Munroe Regional Medical Center as President and Chief Executive Officer in September of 2006. He has held a number of executive positions throughout his 30-year career in healthcare administration. Prior to joining Munroe, he was President and CEO of 322-bed Sisters of Charity Providence Hospitals, a two hospital regional health system located in Columbia, South Carolina. In 2005, Mr. Purves served as Chairman of the South Carolina Hospital Association, and in 2001, he was honored to be appointed to the position of Civilian Aide to the Secretary of the Army for South Carolina and served in this role until 2006.
Since moving to Ocala, Florida, Mr. Purves has joined the boards of the United Way of Marion County, Marion County Public Policy Institute, Ocala/Marion County Chamber of Commerce, the Economic Development Council of Marion County, Marion County Children's Alliance, and Heart of Florida Regional Coalition. He has served in positions with both the American Hospital Association and Florida Hospital Association. He is current Chair of the Florida Hospital Association's Advocacy Committee. In August 2009, he was appointed by the Florida Speaker of the House, Larry Cretul, to serve on the Medicaid Low Income Pool (LIP) Council.
Mr. Purves received a BS degree in Health Education from Springfield College in Springfield, Massachusetts in 1978 and a Master of Science Degree in Healthcare Administration from Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas in 1981. He is a Fellow in the American College of Health Executives.
He and his wife, Mary Anne, have two grown children.

Richard D. Mutarelli, CPA, MBA,
Executive Vice President & Chief Financial Officer
Rich Mutarelli became the Health System's Chief Financial Officer in 1991. In 2005, Mr. Mutarelli was promoted to Executive Vice President/Chief Financial Officer, and continues to serve in that capacity.
He received his BS degree in Finance from Wilkes College in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. He received his Master of Business Administration degree from Webster University in St. Louis, Missouri, and is a licensed Certified Public Accountant in Florida.
Mr. Mutarelli is responsible for corporate business affairs and financial leadership of the health system. In addition, he serves as a strategic advisor to the Health System's Chief Executive Officer and Board of Directors.
Mr. Mutarelli has been married to his wife, Mary Beth, since 1979. She is a special education teacher at Osceola Middle School. Rich and Mary Beth have two adult children, Amy and Richard, Jr.
Mr. Mutarelli is an avid sports fan and enjoys music. He also enjoys spending time with his family.

Paul Clark, FACHE
Senior Vice President & Chief Operating Officer
Paul Clark, Senior Vice President & Chief Operating Officer, has been with Munroe Regional Health System for the past 23 years. Mr. Clark joined Munroe Regional after holding a position as Vice President at Baptist Medical Centers in Birmingham, Alabama and has been an intricate part of Munroe Regional since becoming responsible for the day-to-day operations of the medical center. Mr. Clark is involved in hospital budget preparation, capital planning and participates in numerous Board and Hospital committees. Mr. Clark's major focus for Munroe Regional is the hospital's productivity, non-salary cost reduction, process improvement, new program development and patient loyalty. Direct reporting departments include: Patient Care Services, Facilities & Construction, Food Service, Speech & Rehabilitation, Materials Management, Surgical Services, Volunteers & Auxiliary.
Mr. Clark received his Bachelor of Science degree in Management from University of Southern Mississippi and his Masters in Health Administration from the University of Alabama. Mr. Clark is also a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE).
Mr. Clark has been married to Cathy for 16 years. He has four wonderful step-children, four terrific grandchildren, two cats and two Yorkies. When not spending the day spoiling his grandchildren, Mr. Clark enjoys motorcycling, boating, fishing, golf, photography, and reading.

Lon H. McPherson, MD,
Senior Vice President of Medical Affairs & Chief Quality Officer
Lon McPherson, MD joined Munroe Regional Medical Center in September 2008 as Senior Vice President of Medical Affairs & Chief Quality Officer. Dr. McPherson has been successfully fostering medical management approaches to the issues of cost and quality to improve patient care and serving as the primary liaison between administration and the medical staff. Dr. McPherson oversees the Medical Staff Office, Infection Control, Documentation Improvement and Pharmacy. He also supports the medical staff in their peer review, credentialing, medical leadership education and other important responsibilities.
He and his wife, Therese, have five children. When Dr. McPherson is away from the hospital he enjoys golfing, tennis and biking.

Marc J. Miller, MBA, FACHE, FACMPE
Senior Vice President, Physician Services
Marc Miller joined Munroe Regional Medical Center in 2008 to take on the position of Senior Vice President of Physician Services. In this position, r. Miller works closely with Munroe’s President and CEO, the Senior Vice President of Medical Affairs/Chief Quality Officer, the medical staff and Munroe’s Board to ensure an organized approach to Hospital/Physician partnerships, models, activities and relationships. He is responsible for physician recruiting;, physician practice management, the medical staff development plan, the EA Health unassigned patientprogram, physician practice valuations, and development and business oversight of Munroe Regional affiliated physician practices. He is also responsible, along with the Senior Vice President of Medical Affairs, for “Physician Health Partners”, the Clinical Integration subsidiary organization of MRMC. He is also a resource to provide oversight for the development and maintenance of contractual relationships with hospital-based physicians to assure high quality professional services are available for our patients and medical staff.
Mr. Miller is a graduate of Stetson University in Deland, Florida and received a Masters of Business Administration from Sam Houston University in Huntsville, Texas and is a Fellow in the American College of Medical Practice Executives (FACMPE) as well as a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE).
Married for 21 years to his wife Cindy, they have two lovely daughters. Mr. Miller enjoys golf and is a devoted vocal performer with many recordings under his name.

Carl Candullo, Jr.
Vice President & Chief Information Officer
Carl Candullo, Jr. joined Munroe Regional Medical Center 15 years ago as Vice President & Chief Information Officer. With a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Management and having authored a computer textbook entitled "System Development Standards," published by McGraw-Hill, Mr. Candullo manages and protects all the information assets of the medical center including computer systems, communications networks and electronic data.
Mr. Candullo enjoys boating, fishing, home remodeling, photography and relaxing in the sun and surf.

Rhonda Kautz, CPA
Vice President, Finance
Rhonda Kautz, CPA joined Munroe Regional in June 2000 as the medical center's Vice President of Finance. She is responsible for operations, financial reporting and management of the Finance Division which includes Admitting, Health Information Management, Patient Accounting, General Accounting, Payroll, Accounts Payable, Decision Support, Budget and Reimbursement.
Prior to joining Munroe, she was an auditor for Ernst & Young LLP in the healthcare sector and Vice President of Finance of a multi-hospital system in Florida for ten years.
Ms. Kautz has a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Florida and is a Certified Public Accountant in the State of Florida. She is married and enjoys Gator football, tennis, reading and relaxing with her animals.

Pam Michell, RN, BSN, MHA
Vice President, Chief Nursing Officer
Mrs. Michell has worked for Munroe Regional for more than twenty years; ten years in the late 1970s and early 1980s, and returning in 2000. Mrs. Michell has held many positions in Nursing, Administration, Workforce Development, and Human Resources during her time at Munroe.
She was appointed Vice President of Heart and Vascular Services in 2007. In 2010, Mrs. Michell also accepted the position as Chief Nursing Officer.
Mrs. Michell provides executive leadership to all areas of Patient Care Services, Munroe Heart, Laboratory, Respiratory and Imaging Services.
When not spending time with her husband, Dyer, four adult children and eight grandchildren, Mrs. Michell enjoys playing tennis, golf and singing.

Dan O'Connor, MSA, SPHR
Vice President, Human Resources
Dan O'Connor joined Munroe as the medical center's Vice President of Human Resources in September 2007. Mr. O'Connor's responsibilities include executive leadership of Human Resources, Organizational Development, Workforce Development, Employee Health Services, Safety, Security and Telecommunications.
Mr. O'Connor received his B.A. from Mercyhurst College in Erie, Pennsylvania and an M.S.A. from Central Michigan University in Mount Pleasant, Michigan and is nationally certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources.
When not spending time with his wife, Crystal and two young daughters, Mr. O'Connor enjoys the creative outlet of woodworking, playing tennis and camping.

Mike G. Robertson, MBA, MHA
Vice President, Strategic Planning & Marketing
Mike Robertson joined Munroe Regional in 2001 as the Director of Marketing Services and Public Relations. In February 2008, he was named the medical center's Vice President of Strategic Planning and Marketing. He is responsible for Munroe's strategic planning activities, in addition to marketing, public relations, communications, special events and media relations. He coordinates Munroe's strategic planning process, provides market research to support strategic decisions, assists with linking strategy with operational goals and provides communications support for the medical center's strategic initiatives.
Mr. Robertson received a Bachelor's Degree in Marketing from Southern Oregon University in Ashland, Oregon, where he graduated Marketing Student of the Year, and earned both the National American Marketing Association Award and Wall Street Journal's Academic Achievement Award. He later returned to the same school where he earned a Masters Degree in Business Administration, graduating Cum Laude. He holds a Masters Degree in Healthcare Administration from Webster University.
He is married with two children, a daughter and a son. In his spare time he enjoys golfing, experimenting in the kitchen, reading and writing.
