The Munroe Foundation Hosts 6th Annual Flavor of Munroe

All proceeds raised will benefit Munroe Regional’s Children’s Emergency Department project

On Friday, April 29, 2011, the Munroe Foundation will host its 6th Annual Flavors of Munroe fundraiser. All proceeds raised will benefit Munroe Regional Medical Center's children's emergency department project.

This annual event has raised over $190,000 over the past five years and has helped fund projects such as the nursery expansion, the development of palliative care rooms and the operating room expansion project at Munroe Regional Medical Center.

The theme for this year's Flavors of Munroe is "An American Adventure" and the event will begin at 6:30 p.m. at Golden Ocala Golf & Equestrian Club. The event features the culinary talents of the region's most talented chefs. Flavors of Munroe will also include a silent auction, a cash bar and arcade games.

Scheduled to participate in the culinary exhibit are:

• Chef Matt Colangelo & Chef Daryl Dean: Golden Ocala Golf & Equestrian Club.
• Chef Patrice Perron: La Cuisine French Restaurant.
• Chef Randal White: Hilton, Ocala.
• Chef Kelley Welch: Primary Oven.
• Chef Rondo Fernandez: Cabanas Catering.
• Chef Albert Barrett: Stella's Modern Pantry.
• Guest Amateur Chef Kim Futch.

The Foundation has pledged to raise $2 million to support Munroe Regional's Children's Emergency Department project. This new Children's Emergency Department will be located inside of Munroe Regional, adjacent to the medical center's main emergency department. The new Children's Emergency Department will house nine exam rooms, a family waiting room, an x-ray and triage center and will have physicians fellowship trained in pediatric emergency medicine.
