IN YOUR OPINION

If schools want more money, go elsewhere

The article about more school taxes really ticked me off. If the school system wants more money, go elsewhere. Do not put it on the backs of homeowners.

A large portion of homeowners in Marion County are retirees who have no children in school, plus many of us have lost much of our savings the past few years due to bad management by the government.

It’s a well known fact that the value of our homes have decreased drastically, but everyone wants more.

The only tax I would agree to is a one-cent sales tax which would go to Munroe Regional Medical Center to help defray the cost of charity work. A sales tax is the only fair tax since even the free-loaders would contribute to the cause.

I’m not heartless, just fed up.
