On April 30, 2012, the Munroe Regional Medical Center Board of Directors and Marion County Hospital District Trustees approved moving forward to enter into a formal affiliation with Ocala Surgical Associates.
As a result of this affiliation general surgeons Dwight D. Landmann, M.D., Robert N. Gallinaro, M.D., Anthony V. DeIorio, M.D., and Charles L. Neustein, M.D., as well as the 12 additional staff members at Ocala Surgical Associates will become employees of the medical center and Munroe Regional will take over the lease of the practice’s current facility located at 1541 SW 1st Ave. Ste #105 in Ocala. The transaction will take effect on or around July 1, 2012.

Dwight D. Landmann, M.D.
Board Certified in both General Surgery and Colon and Rectal Surgery, he is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a Diplomate of the American Board of Surgery. Dr. Landmann is a member of the American Medical Association and the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgery.
Following his undergraduate studies at the U.S. Air Force Academy, Dr. Landmann earned his M.D. from Georgetown University Medical School. He served his internship and his residency in General Surgery at Wilford Hall U.S. Air Force Medical Center. He was awarded a fellowship in colon and rectal surgery at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Ohio.
Robert N. Gallinaro, M.D.
Dr. Gallinaro is a Diplomate of the American Board of Surgery, a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and is a member of the American Society of Breast Surgeons. He is a member of the Southeastern Surgical Congress, the Florida Medical Association and the Marion County Strike Team for disaster control.
Dr. Gallinaro earned his Bachelor of Arts from Rice University and his M.D. from the University of Texas, both in Houston. He served his internship and his residency at the University of Louisville Affiliated Hospitals in Kentucky. He was granted the John W. Price Fellowship of Surgical Research at the University of Louisville Department of Surgery.
Anthony V. DeIorio, M.D.
A Diplomate of the American Board of Surgery, Dr. DeIorio is also a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, a former board member of Marion County Medical Society and a member of the American Medical Association. He is a member of the American Society of Breast Surgeons, the Marion County Strike Team for disaster control, and the Southeastern Surgical Congress.
Dr. DeIorio earned both his undergraduate degree and his M.D. from the University of Miami, He graduated summa cum laude with a major in chemistry and double minors in mathematics and religion before entering the School of Medicine. He completed his internship and his residency in General Surgery at the University of Louisville in Kentucky, where he was honored as the Outstanding Surgical Resident. He went on to complete a Fellowship in ERCP with Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Surgery.
Charles L. Neustein, M.D.
Dr. Neustein has been on the medical staff of Munroe Regional Medical Center since December, 1979. He has also served on Munroe’s Board of Directors from 2001 to 2009. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Surgery and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He is certified by the National Board of Medical Examiners and is a member of the American Society of Breast Surgeons.
Dr. Neustein earned his medical degree as well as completed his post-graduate training at the University of Florida and Shands Teaching Hospital. As a research fellow he published in the Journal of Surgical Research and Annals of Surgery.
