Munroe Regional’s Marketing/PR Team Win Unprecedented Thirteen Awards at FHA’s 46th Annual FSHPRM Awards Dinner


On July 11th, Munroe Regional Medical Center’s Marketing & Public Relations Department received an unprecedented thirteen awards at the Florida Hospital Association's 46th Annual Florida Society for Healthcare Public Relations and Marketing (FSHPRM) Awards dinner for excellence in Healthcare Marketing.

Two awards were presented in 16 major categories, A “Mark of Excellence” award and the Judges “Best of Show” award.  All entries were evaluated by a panel of out-of-state judges, this year appointed by The Virginia Hospital Association.

“Our Marketing & Public Relations team is honored to have received so much recognition by our peers, but we are even prouder of the fact that these awards reflect Munroe Regional’s continued focus and commitment to community outreach, transparency and innovative communication to our community” said Mike Robertson, VP of Strategic Planning & Marketing. 

Munroe Regional received the following awards: Seven Mark of Excellence Awards, awarded to the best entry in each category, for Community Outreach (Empower Ocala), Creative Arts (Women In Red Book), Advertising -Broadcast (Health Matters Radio Show), External Communications (Community eNewsletter), Special Events (Ginger Zimmerman), Community Outreach (Women In Red), and Comprehensive Communications (Heart Month 2012). The medical center was also awarded five judges Best of Show Awards for Crisis Communications (Employee eNewsletter), Internal Communications (Employee eNewsletter), External Communications (FY 2011 Community Benefit Report), Issues Management (Strategic Options Transparency) and Social Media (Munroe Heart Video Diaries).

Munroe Regional also received the coveted President’s Award. This award recognizes the one winning entry from all categories that best represents and showcases the best of healthcare marketing and public relations throughout Florida. We received this for our Employee eNewsletter.
