Everyone should pay
Here we go again, another tax for the homeowner. The Munroe Regional Medical Center bond issue is at stake, and I hope people know that once a tax is in effect, it stays there forever. As President Obama says, everybody has to pay their fair share.
Once again, everybody: Pay your fair share. But some property owners are having trouble paying taxes, and if you don't pay your taxes, government takes your property.
Munroe may need or may not need the bond. I am no financial expert, but you can't just put the burden on the homeowner, because it's a sure way to get revenue. Munroe must find a way so every citizen in Marion County pays their fair share — $25 or $50 a year isn't too much for most of the citizens to pay. It just shouldn't be just property owners. Don't forget to read and vote on this issue Nov. 6.
