Munroe Regional Pharmacy Coordinator Recognized
Eric J. Renker, PharmD, the Clinical Pharmacy Coordinator for Munroe Regional Medical Center/Ocala, has been recognized for outstanding contributions to the Florida/USVI Poison Information Center – Jacksonville.
Renker received the inaugural Community Volunteer of the Year award during a dinner Dec. 19 in Jacksonville. Renker was the poison center’s first community volunteer to sign up in September 2010 when the program started.
“I am so pleased to receive this award,” noted Renker in a news release. “Through the Community Volunteer Program, I am able to provide timely and life-saving information which helps a broad range of my neighbors. The Education Office provides outstanding support for volunteer participation and makes the process easy.”
Renker is one of nine community volunteers who represent volunteer outreach to 16 counties of the 42-county service area covered by the poison center. Renker lives in Brooksville and has volunteered for 16 of the 39 community volunteer programs completed to date in Hernando, Pasco, Citrus and surrounding counties, noted the release.
