Laparoscopic Surgery

Laparoscopic surgery is often referred to as minimally invasive surgery due to the technique of using small incisions and the assistance of a lighted video camera (or laparoscope) to perform the surgical procedure.

During the procedure, small incisions are made, small instruments are used to operate and the laparoscope allows the surgeon to clearly view the area of concern on a television monitor. The benefits of laparoscopic surgery include shorter hospital stays, reduced postoperative discomfort, quicker recovery times and less visible scarring.

Munroe offers a wide range of laparoscopic procedures, including appendectomy, bariatric surgery, hernia repair, biopsies, many gynecologic and urologic conditions and cholecystectomy (removal of the gallbladder). We invest in the latest tools, technologies and training, and our surgeons and clinical staff are among the most experienced at laparoscopic surgeries in the region.
